I specialize in voices damaged by years of performing.
My name is Amelia Petrie. I have my Masters of Music in Operatic Performance from Université de Montréal, and have been teaching voice since xxxx.
Although classically trained, I perform with my indie/pop/folk/fusion duo called Ambiance regularly (www.ambiancemusicduo.com). I have taught all levels and styles and also specialize in repairing damaged voices.
As actions teach better than words, I have developed a very simple, non-weight bearing, yoga-based stretching practice which is paired with the vocal warm-up, enabling singers to improve faster and be more relaxed during a performance; along with tried-and-true vocal pedagogical techniques based on how you breathe and speak normally.
